Resources

Look here for all sorts of references to aid your understanding of lipedema. You’ll find links to websites, references to books, and even links to lipedema conferences on YouTube.

We will try to keep this page as up to date as possible, but you may find a broken link from time to time. You may also have some resources we haven’t listed here. In either case, please use our Contact page to drop us a note. We appreciate all that you do to support us.

If you are new to lipedema…

The best book to have in your library:

Lipedema Treatment Guide; A Certified Lymphedema Therapist’s Advice for her clients with lipedema by Kathleen Lisson, CMT, CLT

Here you’ll find information about lipedema and its effects. You’ll also get a wealth of tips about self-care and insight into different types of treatments and therapies for lipedema.

Movie: The Disease They Call Fat.

There are an estimated 20 million women in the USA that have the fat disorder lipedema and don’t know it. Filmmaker and patient Catherine Seo brings us on a journey of discovery, as she explores this misunderstood and commonly misdiagnosed disease.

Best videos:

FDRS (Fat Disorders Resource Society)

One of the leading research organizations in the United States, their website contains basic information, but their YouTube channel is a goldmine. They post the videos from their annual conferences, for FREE. There is something there for women with lipedema, as well as for clinicians. We think it is incredibly generous of FDRS to share their conferences with those of us who can’t be there in person.
